Gousto Cooking Box Review and Giveaway

The day I received my Gousto box was not a good day. I had just had some really sad news from France and to be perfectly honest, food was the last thing on my mind. I did not want to open the box or even think about cooking. If you have come across my blog before, you probably know how much I love cooking and spending time in my kitchen. It was that bad.

A few hours later, when it was time to get dinner ready, I remembered the box and opened it. It was a relief to find it all seemed really uncomplicated. With no stamina or motivation to do anything, that was exactly what I needed. I welcomed the fact no thinking was required.

The box contained all the ingredients we needed to make three meals for our family. Gousto is a great cooking box subscription service. Every week, you choose your three meals for two or four people from a selection of ten healthy recipes. It gets delivered to your door and all ingredients are pre-measured.

As the children were starting to get hungry, I quickly glanced at the easy to follow recipe cards and immediately spotted the cooking time information. Bangers and Lentils would take thirty-five minutes to cook, Curry in a Hurry fifteen minutes and the Lamb & Tarragon Pie would need fifty minutes.

Needless to say we had Curry in a Hurry that night.

It was nice and easy to cook, and delicious. The only drawback in my view was that preparation time was not mentioned on the card. It took about fifteen minutes to cook the meal, but I also spent the same amount of time prepping the ingredients.

The following evening, we had Bangers and Lentils.

I also made the Lamb & Tarragon Pie for Hubby and the children, but I did not try it as I do not eat lamb.

The meals are healthy and easy to execute. Once you have tried the recipes, if you like them, you can make them again and again as you have the recipe card with a list of ingredients and clear instructions to keep.

I think Gousto boxes are absolutely brilliant when you are getting bored of cooking the same meals week after week. It gives you a new range of dishes to choose from, with the exact ingredients you require and simple to follow instructions. It would also be ideal for anyone who wants to eat healthy, nutritious food but lacks confidence in the kitchen.

The lovely people at Gousto are offering my readers £20 off their first box and their fourth box free. Simply click here to get straight to the offer or use code LECOINDEMEL when prompted.
