Who is going to BritMums Live?

After work this afternoon, I will be heading off to BritMums Live, the biggest blogging event of the year for parent bloggers. I was desperate to attend in 2014, but Wriggly was only a week old so I followed the event on Twitter. When the tickets went on sale for this year, I must have been the first person to hit ‘buy now!’

Anyone who knows me is aware of my obsession love for jars and it is a real honour to have Home Brands, the makers of Ball Fresh Preserving Products as my sponsor for BritMums Live. We made ice cream yesterday night so I could show off my pretty new jam jar!

Ice Cream in Ball Jar

Name: Mel

Blog: Le Coin de Mel

Twitter ID: @lecoindemel

Height: 1m63

Hair: brown

Eyes: green or grey depending on the weather

Is this your first blogging conference? No

Are you attending both days? Of course!

What are you most looking forward to at BritMums Live 2015? First and foremost, I am looking forward to catching up with friends and meeting the inspiring people behind the blogs I read and love.

What are you wearing? I will probably be wearing my work outfit when I arrive (late, sniff!), unless I have time to change during my lunch break. I have a nice, comfy dress from Joules for this evening with electric blue heels and pink nails. I have no idea what I will be wearing tomorrow. Am I allowed jeans and a tank top?

What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2015? The ‘Table Talk’ sessions really appeal to me as they are set in smaller groups with experts in their field. I also hope I will get some tips on what I am meant to do with social media. Oh, and I have no idea about SEO, so if anyone has any idea what it is and what to do with it, let me know! I might not have to wing this blogging thing after BritMums Live!

Do you have any tips to pass on to others who may not have been before? It is my first time. Please be gentle with me (and if you see me on my own, please speak to me!).

  1. Love your style!! You make me laugh;-) Hope you had a great time ma belle!

    • It was so much fun! I’d never been to an awards ceremony and as I kid of knew someone in each category, there was quite a bit of cheering!

  2. Fiona Chick says:

Going where?? Hehe, see you this afternoon. I also need to learn about SEO, so come and grab me for that bit! xx

    • Meeting you (crazy lady) was one of the highlights of BritMums. Those glitter cards are gorgeous!
Did you go to the SEO session in the end? What did you think?

      • Fiona Chick says:

Meeting you (very wholesome) lady was also one of the highlights of my weekend. I didn’t go to the SEO session in the end, so everyone will continue to be unable to find my blog!! xx

        • I did, but I am still pretty sure my blog will remain well-hidden for a long, long time (I like to think of it as a hidden treasure).

          • Fiona Chick says:

It is a treasure for sure, but probably not as hidden as you reckon xx

      • Fiona Chick says:

I swear I replied to this…! Nope, didn’t go to the SEO session in the end. I’ll just work it out in my own time. Or remain a ‘hidden treasure’… hehe x

        • I think you did. Either I replied already or I read your comment and forgot to reply. Don’t ask me to have brain cells: I gave them all to my kids, he he! I did go to the session, but I was lost after slide 2 I think. I don’t think I care enough about statistics and optimising things!

  4. All the best for tonight. Enjoy The conference xx

  5. This conference sounds fab Mel! I’m jealous 🙂 We don’t have anything like that in Australia. I saw your point about SEO. I did a little guide on it on FBC. Bloggers have been writing in telling me that within weeks, they’ve seen 30 to 40% increase in traffic once they fixed SEO on their blogs! Here’s the link 🙂 http://www.foodbloggerscentral.com/seo-keywords-the-avalanche-effect-start-small/

    • I will definitely try following your advice from tomorrow. How did I miss those posts? You are amazing my lovely!

  6. Oops sorry. This ons is probably more relevant first off! http://www.foodbloggerscentral.com/best-google-keywords-for-recipes/

  7. You’ll never be on your own! You know everyone and we all love you 😉

    • You’re always so kind to me. I don’t know everyone… I just ten to speak to anyone, whether they like it or not, he he!

  8. You’re going to have such an AWESOME time 😀

  9. Amazing seeing you Mel, wish we’d had more time to chat, always love hanging out, thanks for being such a great friend xx

    • There’s always next time, beautiful! It’s always such a pleasure seeing you with all your energy and your positive attitude. xxx

  10. Did you have fun? I hope so 🙂

  11. SO gutted I missed you gorgeous lady, hope to see you soon xxx
