A Useful Present for the Children’s Teachers – Hamper for Break Time

Crafty Corner, Homemade Presents

Be nice to teachers! They look after our children, comfort them, teach them to read and write and nurture them. They also share their knowledge with the little ones and answer all their questions patiently. When you think about it, they spend a lot more time with our children than we do during the week, so we like to send a small ‘thank you’ their way from time to time.

I try to put together a small treat for the children’s teachers towards the end of each term. This time round, I did not quite manage that, so we made a hamper for them to use in the staffroom. Who does not like tea or coffee? We also added biscuits and chocolates to the hamper, just in case some of the teachers were not fond of hot drinks.

The coffee, L’Or Absolu from Maison du Café, is my absolute favourite and I always buy it in France. Teapigs kindly sent the tea we included in our hampers. The children chose the treats for their teachers and were really proud to deliver their presents.

Beanie chose a card for her teachers and drew a picture on it. She also decided that her key worker would love a story about Pinkie Pie (My Little Pony). I suggested choosing a mug as well.

I have in the past, usually something homemade. But sometimes I also get the kids to draw a nice picture.

Thank you Hun! I always try to think of little presents I would like to receive myself. I always start with things I already have (in this case, the hamper, tissue paper, coffee, tea, card) and add a couple of small things (biscuits, mugs, book). Thoughtful is always so much nicer than quickly bought expensive stuff I think. Xxx
