The Perfect Homemade Gift: Marzipan Chocolates – #FreeFromFridays

Food, Free From Recipes

17 days till Christmas, peeps, 17 days! I can’t wait to take my four to my mum’s for a bit of a family reunion and lots of food and chatting with friends and family. Thanks to everyone who linked up last week. Chocolates are on everyone’s mind at the moment, so here is my favourite from last week: Kate’s homemade chocolates. They would make the perfect gift for teachers in a pretty upcycled jar.

Kate also provides 3 alternatives for the filling bit of the chocolates: alone, orange and pistachio marzipan… Yum!

Thank you so much for featuring my chocolates Mel. I just came over to see if the link was open for the week and saw my marzipan splashed across my screen. Really appreciate it! xxx

Your post had my mouth watering from beginning to end… I want to go to Germany. Now! Or maybe just buy the few ingredients needed to make marzipan and have a go myself! I don’t really like shop-bought marzipan because it always contains way too much almond extract. I find making my own ‘frangipane’ (I think it translates as marzipan in English, but it’s a less dense version), I had no idea you needed egg whites to make it. I must have pinned your recipe on 15 boards or so, to make sure I don’t forget attempting it! xxx

Homemade gifts are lovely to receive and these look delicious. I think that I might eat a few before placing them in jar #freefromfridays

I would probably eat a whole batch before they made it anywhere near the jars hahaha!
