Fun Family Games for a Rainy Day

My children love nothing more than a parcel being delivered. The little things in life, hey? Only trouble, most parcels are for me and they are now allowed anywhere near them, so when I told them they could open our latest one, there were screams of delight at home (sorry, neighbours!).

Megableu sent us a couple of games just before Halloween, and three others recently. When I asked the children which game they wanted to try first, they all went for Cobra Attack, a game in which you have to rescue a jewel before the snake jumps at you out of its basket and catches you.

As long as the eyes are green, the player can slowly move towards the basket, but when they turn red, you have to ‘freeze’ so the snake does launch into an attack.

Beau-papa put four AA batteries in and a few minutes later, we were ready to try the game. The room was full of tension and excited children. We enjoyed the challenge!

Here is what the children thought:

Crevette: “I love it because I get scared just in case it jumps at me!”

Beanie: “I hated it. I’m too scared when it pops out.”

Jumpy: ” I like playing with that.”

Poppy: “The hardest part is waiting your turn. It’s like Indiana Jones for children and inebriated adults!”

I have already packed the game for Christmas in France. After a few glasses of champagne, my brothers and I will probably enjoy it even more than the little ones!

I have to say that it is an excellent game for the children to learn how to take turns, but quite a lot of self-discipline is required. We have to work on turn-taking!

Trickin’ Camel is the one I was most looking forward to trying .

The aim of the game is to collect as many bottles as possible by winning Trickin’ Camel’s challenges or by catching the bottles he flings out of his bottle crate. The camel is quite mischievous and just chucked all the bottles out of the crate when we least expected it.

This game is so much fun we could not stop playing it. I have just ordered it for my nephew for Christmas. Definitely a new favourite in this house!

Alien Mission is the one Beanie was most desperate to try. Aliens appear in the goggles and you have to shoot them with a laser gun. The children
loved competing against each other to get the best score.

The mask could do with foam to fit better and be more comfortable, but once you get playing, you forget about it.

You could win a bundle of Megableu Family Games, worth £150!
