Happy Friday everyone! I am so sorry I forgot about #FreeFromFridays last week. It was that kind of week, oops! The one post that really caught my attention when Emma last hosted Free From Fridays was a recipe by Reneé. Her Paleo Hazelnut Balls required 4 simple ingredients only: roasted hazelnuts, coconut oil, cacao powder and honey. Now that’s my kind of recipe! Check it out as well as a quick video here.

Although we blend the same ingredients to make the Nutella Beanie has in her porridge most mornings, I would never have considered making the mixture thicker and turning it into little balls tasting pretty much like Ferrero Rocher. Reneé is a genius! As soon as I saw the recipe, I knew I would be making these little treats.

Blending took minutes. Straight after that, Wriggly and I scooped the mixture onto a baking sheet so it could harden in the fridge for an hour or so.

We then gave them a little roll and they looked like truffles and were ready to be kept in an airtight container in the fridge until a sweet fix was needed.

Let me tell you something: these little paleo hazelnut balls didn’t last 24 hours!

    These photos look amazing Mel! Those balls are such a healthy sweet treat. I’d probably want to eat them all though!

      I did, hahahaha!Bought more hazelnuts yesterday. I think I’m due another paleo ball binge 🙂
