My Four – October 2018

Fun with the Little Ones, Kids' Corner

Focusing on the bond between my four month after month after month is absolutely fascinating.

I absolutely love switching off completely at the weekend and during holidays so I can observe the bond between these four little humans. Please don’t imagine it’s all rainbows and butterflies: they all have their moments (so do I), but most of the time, they genuinely enjoy being all together.

Even when we’re with a crowd of people, at a party or with friends, they seem to gravitate towards each other and I hope they remain best friends forever.

There might be a few years between them, but they still enjoy the same things, and playing together, going on rides together and being silly together.

They build forts, make up their own games, role play and take turns most of the time.

They also do lots of stuff they shouldn’t be doing, like jumping from the top of the top bunk or climbing on my mum’s windows.

That was a slow ride: Malibu the pony wouldn’t stop grazing!

How synchronised is that?

They do things out of their comfort zone, but because they’re together, there’s always at least one of them to reassure the others.

They also bicker a lot…

… but at the end of the day, they’re a little tribe!

Here are the words that spring to mind when I think of my four (aged 4, 5, 8 and 10) at the moment:

  • Giggles
  • Scheming
  • Togetherness
  • Sleepovers
  • Arguments
  • Belly laughs
  • Bickering
  • Bear hugs
  • Mischievous

My four are my everything!

Oh that last photo of you all is just gorgeous. I love how much fun your little tribe are having together in the photos, it sounds like they had a wonderful time with your family in France. Love your list of words to describe life with them all too x #siblingsproject

Thanks sweetie! They really love being in each other’s company about 95% of the time, and I’m really grateful for that. Love that photo too 🙂 x

Aww, these are such lovely pictures Mel. It’s great to hear that they all get on so well – I guess with four of them there’s always someone to play with 🙂 #SiblingsProject

So true: they’re never bored. This weekend, I only had the youngest two at home and it was lovely but very odd at the same time 🙂

I love to watch the bond between siblings. To see it grow and change over the years is a privilege to watch. The best thing I ever did was give my girls each other. I love these photos of your Tribe Mel, they look like they are having the best fun x

This is exactly how I feel about my children and the gift of siblings. You’ve really hit the nail on the head with the way you describe it. It really is a strong bond they share and I really feel privileged to see them grow side by side.
