My Little Man’s Dream Bedroom

If we were to have a loft conversion, Crevette could have his own bedroom rather than sharing with his sisters. I asked him what he would have in his ideal bedroom.

His top priority would be to have a high bed with a desk underneath, as well as a chair.
We found two beds he was quite keen on:
– The Rylie midsleeper (£529) from Barker & Stonehouse has a shelf unit on top of the bed and underneath a pull out desk with drawer, a two-drawer unit with a shelf and shelves round the side. I find this bed perfect for a small bedroom as it combines sleeping and storage, and it is quite compact.

– The Stompa Uno Plus High Sleeper with Chair Bed and Desk (£799) from John Lewis is Crevette’s favourite because the bed is really high and it means the desk is there permanently. The chair bed looks really comfortable as a little reading corner, and it turns into a bed, which is perfect for sleepovers.

This desk chair from GLTC is half price at the moment (£37.50):

My little man likes grey, black and white.

We would love white teak hardwood shutters from Hillarys. The New Hampshire Brilliant White Shutters start at £54.91.

He would definitely need a blackout blind in his bedroom to make sure he does not wake up at dawn, and the Monochrome Midnight from Hillarys (prices starting at £41.44) would be perfect.

The Spectrum Slate Grey carpet would be our first choice. The price is not listed on the site.

For Crevette’s favourite photos, we would have the Gallery Perfect Frame Set in Black (£55). Gallery Perfect Frame Set in Black - John Lewis

As we were browsing the internet, we stumbled upon this Rodnik Shark Fin Chair (£449), and Crevette immediately fell in love with it. I have to admit I did, too!

He is also keen on this fish scale rug (£249).

He would have the Grey & White Clouds duvet set from This Modern Life (£55.99) with its classic Moln print designed by Gunila Axén in the 60’s.

We also love the large paper lamp shade with the clouds print (£15.95).

As soon as he saw it, Crevette knew he would like to have the bright yellow ‘You Are My Sunshine’ print (£38.99) in his dream bedroom.

He would also love the Umbra Fishhotel Fishbowl (£27.78 on Amazon).

Last but not least, my little man would like an oversized bean bag to relax with his sisters or take downstairs when we have one of our cinema parties.

I love all Crevette’s choices Mel! Although knowing me I would probably steer my child towards something a bit more colourful! The first bed is brilliant for storage – I love all the shelves – and it would be my dream to have hardwood blinds too – my mum and dad have got some and I really love them. X

I agree with you, Sam. I think he would need a bit more colour in there. He kept mentioning pink so we would probably go for pops of pink!

That shark chair is AMAZING! I want one for me please! Lovely choices, very funky and stylish – and LOVE your idea for pops of pink in there (so weird, I literally just blogged about boys and pink stuff) x

Great minds think alike! If money was no object, I would get the chair (and the bedroom ha ha!) for him straight away.
