Organic Fruit and Vegetables from Farmaround

We were sent a luxury fruit bag and a big vegetable bag from Farmaround on the day I had planned to start weaning Wriggly. Perfect timing!

Farmaround Organic Fruit

She had just turned six months old on the day we received the fruit and veg, and I was going to give her organic carrots as her first vegetable, just like her three siblings had had before her.

Her big brother was keen to get involved. He peeled her carrots and cut them with his child safe knife. He also mashed them after I had steamed them, and fed his baby sister. She was not impressed! The weaning process could take a long time with our little lady.

Getting the fruit and veg delivered straight to my door was a real treat. It looked really good and fresh. I also loved the fact the organic goodies arrived in big sacks. I used those for fruit and veg peelings and organic waste and it meant my bin did not get dirty that week.

This is what we used all the organic fruit and vegetables for:

The raspberries just disappeared as soon as I washed them.

Wriggly had most of the carrots puréed as her first solids.

We had some of the carrots and the broccoli with our salmon fillets one night.

One apple, a couple of pears and an orange went into my fruity mincemeat.

We made a vegetarian quiche with the courgettes and plum cherry tomatoes.

Oranges went in mulled wine.

Pineapple, bananas, apples and clementines were used in smoothies.

The pomegranate and a pear gave us a delicious salad.

I also made vegetable soup, mash and served the rest of the broccoli with steak.

The bananas were not nice and the potatoes had to be scrubbed, but other than that, we really enjoyed our two bags.

Just be aware that sometimes, the contents of the bags do not match the list given on the website. When it happens, Farmaround simply add something of equal value to your bag. If you want a specific bag content, they have a ‘Pick you own bags’ option.

Onion, I’ve never liked them especially raw ones and that horrible onion in the bin stink gets me every time.
