Where has January gone? I don’t know about you, but we’ve been really busy and as a result, January has just flown by. We’re getting closer and closer to spring!
The Snapshots and Scenes post I put together every month is my favourite thing. It all started a few months ago when I first filmed little snippets of our daily lives. I’d never really done that before. I had tried to capture the milestones, the ‘big’ moments like the first steps, the first bike ride without stabilisers, bits of Christmas concerts and daring first attempts on the zip wire at the park. What I wasn’t recording was the everyday stuff, the ‘little things’ that make me feel so happy.
Last summer, a group of fab creative bloggers and I came up with Snapshots & Scenes, a monthly project focusing on video and photos. The idea is simple: as you are enjoying the little moments with your family, record them on camera or film and share your favourite bits with us, ideally through photo and video.
On the day of every month, I put together a short video of no more than 60 seconds, to capture the essence of the month just gone. I generally start with what seems like hours of footage, and although it’s tough to select a clip rather than another, or to trim it so much that only 1 second remains, it’s also pretty satisfying to see those snippets of our daily lives, the absolute gold nuggets from our month just gone. I have a lot to learn, so bear with me, but I’m having fun! Just scroll to the bottom to join us!

Sounds like it was a very fulfilling January for you and your kids. I think my daughter would be jealous most of being a zookeeper. That sounds like such a lot of fun, even in a limited way.
It really was a brilliant experience, and certainly a memorable one for my little girl and her friend!

We’d love to have you join in. It’s a really simple one. You can use photos and videos you use on our phone and simply write a few bullet points about your highlights for the month. It’s my favourite post to put together every month 🙂
