I’ve just realised how quiet I’ve been on the blog over the past few weeks, oops! It’s not you, it’s me! I think life and sunshine got in the way of spending time in front of my computer, which isn’t a bad thing, really. At the start of every month (well, mid-month in this instance), I put together a Snapshots and Scenes video and blog post about the previous month and it’s my favourite thing to do.
It all started a few months ago when I first filmed little snippets of our daily lives. I’d never really done that before. I had tried to capture the milestones, the ‘big’ moments like the first steps, the first bike ride without stabilisers, bits of Christmas concerts and daring first attempts on the zip wire at the park. What I wasn’t recording was the everyday stuff, the ‘little things’ that made me feel so happy.
At the start of every month, I now put together a short video of a minute or so, to capture the essence of the month just gone. I generally start with what seems like hours of footage, and although it’s tough to select a clip rather than another, or to trim it so much that only 1 second remains, it’s also pretty satisfying to see those snippets of our daily lives, the absolute gold nuggets from our month just gone. I have a lot to learn, so bear with me, but I’m having fun! Just scroll to the bottom to join me!
The idea is simple: as you are enjoying ‘the little things’ with your family, record them on camera, film them on your phone or ‘big’ camera and share your favourite bits, ideally through photo and video.

Snapshots & Scenes… What’s that?
‘Snapshots & Scenes’ is a monthly project to focus on telling a story through video and photos. It can be a summary of the past month or highlight a special occasion or the little things.
Who can join in?
Absolutely anyone! I’d love to find out about your little and big adventures, see what you got up to last month and hear your stories. Anything goes, really!
So sorry I missed you posting this! Gorgeous photos and video as always. Spending time with family in the sunshine is a great excuse for not “working”! xx
I couldn’t agree more! It’s been so lovely spending lots of time with the children and being fully present every day!
