Spring is finally here, peeps! It is my favourite time of the year. Days are getting longer, the light is beautiful and soft, flowers start to appear everywhere, even in places you wouldn’t expect them. It feels like the light at the end of the tunnel is finally in sight. In winter, I just want to hibernate and hide under my duvet, but when spring finally shows up, I feel alive again! I must have been a bear or a hedgehog in another life… Anyway, I digress. Today, to celebrate the arrival of spring, I wanted to introduce my friend Anna and her gorgeous Cienta Kids UK canvas shoes.

These cute little shoes tick all the boxes for us: they are smart yet comfy. The range means there is a style for each of my little ones. They are washable (and still look decent after washing!), and they smell of sweets. What’s not to love? I just want a pair for me too!

With no further ado, here is Anna’s story. She is one of my closest friends, a wonderful mama, one of the nicest people I have ever met and she also happens to be the owner of Cienta Kids UK.

Hi, I’m Anna! I have always loved shoes, probably because 9 times out of 10 they fit – unlike when I admire a Bandeau dress or Pair of Slim Fit Jeans!

I remember my first pair, a red leather Sandalette from Startrite, still available in their Classic range. This is me in my red shoes with my Grandad.

I was so proud of them! That feeling has stuck right through to my first pair of red-soled Louboutins.  I purchased my first and only pair in Bergdorf Goodman, New York on my 30th Birthday. Luckily I got them then as 9 months later my son Freddie was born and my heels now make special appearances only a few times a year!

After having my children Freddie & Annie I threw myself head first into motherhood, something I had always looked forward to.  Life hasn’t been all bunting and baking, the past few years have been tough.  Freddie was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD and I soon realised my life would be going on a slight detour from the path I thought I was on.

My youngest Annie, who is now 6 and a budding Imelda Marcos, asked me a while ago: “When you were a little girl, what did you want to do for a job? Was it your dream to work for Grandad?”

Wake up call!!! Time to do something I always dreamed of. It probably  wouldn’t be everyone’s dream but it’s always been mine.

Cienta shoes have been made in the La Rioja region of Spain for over 30 years and are now available to buy in the UK through Cienta Kids UK. They are eco-conscious, made from all natural materials, machine washable, kind to growing feet and super stylish (if they’re good enough for SJP’s girls…) and they are even berry-scented.

I have loved this first year launching Cienta Kids UK and I really feel I have started to get my mojo back. I have collaborated with, called in favours from and met some wonderful, inspiring women and look forward to meeting many more.

The highlight of the past year has to be the excitement of seeing Prince George wearing a Navy Canvas T Bar on his 3rd Birthday. I sold out pretty soon after that.

There are more Navy Bars on their way for SS 17 along with some new colours, styles and prints, even a liberty print…here’s a sneak peak….

    Joanie Mary Jane – Blossom shoes for my little niece as shes about to become a big sister so deserves a nice little treat! (And she is shoe mad already at 3!). I have 2 boys but they wouldnt appreciate lovely pretty shoes x

      Love them too. My little man has 2 pairs of those and they’re really versatile (day out to the beach, running around in our local park, dress down days at school, and they even work really well with a smart outfit!).

          They were my youngest’s second pair of shoes. For the first pair, I went with really soft crawling shoes for all of mine. Bobux or Clarks are perfect for the very 1st pair of shoes, Cienta for every single pair after that 🙂 My youngest is on her third pair and she’s only 2 1/2!

    Love the shoes and what a wonderful idea thlatest they smell of berries ..any kid would be delighted to have a pair if I won would give my grandson he suffers severe autism and know the expression sense of a lovely fragrance he would enjoy x
