Preheat oven at gas mark 5 (190 degrees Celsius / 375 degrees Fahrenheit).

Line a muffin tin with 12 cupcake cases and place an Oreo and a teaspoon of peanut butter at the base of each one.

In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix well. Incorporate the cream cheese.

Add the dry ingredients and mix well.

Add cupcake batter on top of each Oreo & peanut butter. The cupcake cases should be ¾ full.

Smooth the batter with the back of a teaspoon.

Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cupcakes bounce back when pressed lightly.

In the meantime, make the icing. Start by mixing the peanut butter, butter and vanilla until well-combined and smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat until light and creamy.

Once the cupcakes have cooled down, spread icing over each cupcake.

At this stage, you can turn your cupcakes into cookie monster ones. Place edible glitter in a small bowl and turn each cupcake onto the glitter. It will adhere to the icing. Sprinkle some more glitter if need be. Push a Peanut Butter Oreo into the cupcake to form a mouth and add candy eyes.
